Which Video Game Console Is Your All-Time Favorite?

There have been many consoles over the years, and I imagine everyone has a few favorites. If you had to highlight just one console though, which would be your all-time favorite?

My favorite all-time console is still the SEGA Dreamcast, and somewhere there's an alternate universe where SEGA kept making consoles and we got the Dreamcast 2 and Dreamcast 3. Other systems were more powerful, but I still look back at my Dreamcast era and wish I still had mine.

Games like Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Grandia II, Skies of Arcadia, Jet Grind Radio, Phantasy Star Online, Power Stone, SoulCalibur, Shenmue, and Marvel vs. Capcom all delivered unforgettable moments, and the system had a wildly varied game lineup. I had a ton of VMUs and still love the controller design, and I was the one with a full keyboard and modem setup, which I used every day.

Dreamcast forever!

What video game console is your all-time favorite?

I have to go with the PS3. Got it as a Christmas gift and spent all of break playing Assassin's Creed 2. It was only up from there.

PS3 is the only generation of PlayStation that I feel like I missed out on, just because it was the one time I was primarily playing on Xbox with the 360. Took me a while to actually play some of the system's best games, and still haven't played all of them.

PS2 was the console of my youth, but my answer might honestly be PS4. That thing got me through the pandemic and helped me rediscover my love of gaming. I didn't have a console for years until March 2020. I bought a PS4 that first weekend of COVID and never looked back. Gaming is one of my favorite hobbies again. I get some time in on my PS5 almost every day.

I'm a relic from the 80's so I would have to say the Super Nintendo had the biggest impact on me. I got the NES when it first came out and we were absolutely amazed! We played it so much and it was great for times when you didn't have any friends around to keep you company. Then the Super Nintendo came out and we all thought that was the pinnacle of gaming! I never really got into other systems as much as the SNES, mainly because I got really busy in life and didn't play games for a while. Then we got the XBox 360 and had a blast with that one as well. I'm a fairly simple gamer and easy to keep entertained as long as the games are fun and not overly complex. I like to be able to just turn it on and play.

Xbox is always going to be mine, just because I remember buying one in the early 2000s purely for Halo, and I've been happy since lol.

Glad I am not the only person who bought an Xbox because Halo.

I really adored the PS2, and it still has some of my all time fave games on the system.

My favorite console of all time is definitely the PlayStation 1. I spent my teenage years playing Spider-Man, Final Fantasy, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and not to mention its catalog it was huge. Ahh, those were the days!

I have a weak spot for the Nintendo 64 because it was the only console I had when I was a child... I played a lot of Super Nintendo, PS1, and PS2 in friends' houses, but the Nintendo 64 was the one I booted to play all night long.

But, if I try to be more objective, I guess I would grant the gold medal to the Switch. Odyssey is arguably the best 3D Mario, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom expanded the Zelda franchise in ways no one could imagine, we got some amazing Kirby titles and Pikmin 4, a bunch of remakes and remasters that allowed me to play almost the entire Nintendo library so far, an online store that includes a vast catalogue of indies... AND the ability to easily take my TV console on a trip to play on the way.

I will always associate the PS1 with Sears, because that's where I went in to buy my copy of Final Fantasy VII haha

Nintendo Wii ... was a game-changer for me. It hardlined interactive video gaming for me.

You know, I actually hurt myself when I played The Wii for the first time, though I managed not to break the TV so that was a worthy tradeoff.
